A little bit of history
The Community Centre has been part of village life for more than 30 years.
It all started with a long campaign by local residents, who worked hard to secure the land and funding needed to create a community facility that everyone could enjoy. Their efforts paid off, and the Centre opened in 1991.
The original building included a full-sized sports hall, a smaller hall, a large kitchen and a bright, open foyer — creating a flexible space that could be used by people of all ages for all sorts of activities.
As the village grew, so did the Centre. In 2003, an extension was added to provide a purpose-built home for Marshfield Pre-School.
More than 30 years on, the Centre continues to do what local residents originally set out to achieve: provide a welcoming place where people can meet, have fun, support one another and be part of their community.
