I need tables and chairs - do you provide them?
We have a selection of tables and chairs that you can use for your booking - please ask for more information email: bookings@marshfieldcommunitycentre.co.uk
Can I use the Kitchen?
Yes, the kitchen is usually available for hire for making refreshments and light catering.
All kitchen worktops, surfaces and cooker must be cleaned and wiped down after use. Crockery and glasses must be washed and put away, or loaded into the dishwasher and set on a wash cycle.
You must take your rubbish away with you as the Centre has no refuse collections.
Do you provide a caterer or a barman?
No. You can book the kitchen for your own use, but you must provide your own caterers and bar staff.
If you are providing alcohol you must pay a £100 non refundable deposit. You may also need to apply for a TENS licence. Please email us with details of what you would like to do at your event and we will be happy to help - bookings@marshfieldcommunitycentre.com
Can I sell alcohol at my event?
If you want to sell alcohol or include alcohol in the ticket price of your event you will need to apply for a Temporary Event Notification (TEN) from South Gloucestershire Council. Application for a TEN is your responsibility. The contact number is 01454 868686.
Can I prepare for my event in advance?
Yes, but you must book any preparation and clear down time for you booking. This will ensure that the space is not booked by someone else.
We will charge you for the extra time and include it on your invoice.
Do you set up and take down any equipment that I hire for my event?
No.
The centre is run by volunteers. The hirer must manage their event from preparation to clean down. See Hall Hire Agreements.
Please ensure that you put all equipment and furniture away safely where you found it.
We will check the hall after your event and will investigate any concerns we have.
Whose responsibility is it to clean and tidy up after an event?
As the centre is mainly staffed by volunteers it is the responsibility of the hirer and users to leave it clean and tidy. There are photos on the walls to show how cupboards and equipment should be left after an event.
Do I need to bring my own cleaning equipment?
Equipment is available for everyone to use:
Hoover, brushes and mops are stored in 'Bob's Cupboard'
Black sacks, washing up liquid and cleaning spray are in the kitchen
